Amish Sugar cookies
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cream the butter oil and sugars in a mixing bowl. Beat in the eggs one at a time until blended and then add vanila.
  3. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Slowly add the the creamed mixture.
  4. Drop by small scoops onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until just lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
